April 2020

To our Hartford Area Pediatrics Family:

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are currently scheduling ONLY well child visits in our office and offering telemedicine appointments for all other issues.

For those patients seen in our office, we are taking every precaution to keep our office clean and safe by taking the following measures:

Our entire staff will wear masks and gloves throughout your visit.
Each room will be cleaned thoroughly between every patient visit.
We ask that only one parent accompany each child to their visit.
Patients will call to check in when they arrive and wait in their car until the back-office staff is ready to see you. On arrival, each individual will have their temperature taken and be asked to wear a mask.
We will ensure that patients do not come within 6 feet of each other unless they are part of the same household.
Every patient and their family will be screened for coronavirus risk factors the day prior to their appointment.

In order to have access to our telemedicine services, you must be on our patient portal. Once you are on the portal, we also encourage you to download the Healow app to your phone. The Healow app can be found on the App store on your phone. The Healow app will allow you to access your child’s portal and our telemedicine services on your phone.

If you are not portal enabled or you do not remember your login credentials, please contact our office staff during normal business hours and we will assist you.

Please be aware that in transitioning to telemedicine services, telemedicine and telephone encounters with our physicians that meet standard criteria are billable services.

We continue to look to the American Academy of Pediatrics for guidance on providing routine preventative care during the coronavirus pandemic. We strongly believe in the importance of keeping our patients up to date on their vaccines and health screenings, especially as the duration of this pandemic remains unclear.

Please understand that with the coronavirus pandemic, the situation facing all of us is rapidly evolving and we are doing our best to respond appropriately. Thankfully, to date, it appears most children are mildly affected by coronavirus. Finally, we urge you to help keep your family and community safe and healthy by staying home whenever possible.
